So.. PS Vita is launching on 22/2/12.. What is the first question that comes to your mind?
“How much?”
BAD QUESTION!!!
Check the official press release by Sony. There are 5 bundle options for the PS Vita, 4 memory card sizes, 27 games. Apple gives you 3 options
when they launch iPhone, Sony gives you 540* options. One would need a 1000 word essay to answer “How much?”
*permutation calculated assuming you buy 1 bundle, 1 or no memory card, 1 or no game
The following are OPINIONS coming from a video game retailer based in Singapore. We hope our 2 cents would be useful to you in your research.
No 3G Vita during launch
First, we start with the most important news. Accurate as of writing and based on our supplier’s words, IDA has yet to approve PS Vita 3G for sale in Singapore. Yup, we probably won’t see PS Vita 3G during Singapore’s launch. There was no mention of 3G bundles in Sony’s press release too, so this should be pretty much confirmed.
Fail, 3G is in. – update 22/2/12 10am.
Online warranty registration may NOT be available
If past Sony product launches can be a guideline, do not be alarmed if you are unable to register your warranty online on the launch day. It may take a month or two for Sony to fix this. Keep your receipts for warranty will do.
Plenty of imported games
PS Vita, like its predecessor, is region free. A PS Vita game from any country will work on any PS Vita console. Singapore’s importers have been hard at work and most of the PS Vita launch titles are already for sale in Singapore at pretty decent price points to boot.
If buying physical game cards is too mainstream, you can buy them off the Playstation store. Only problem though is you can’t sell a downloaded copy after completing the missions so there is no resale value if you are buying digital.
Imported memory cards
Sony memory cards as always, are pricey. However the weak US dollar is expected to work in our favour. Most of our PS Vita memory cards are imported from US as the price gap right now is pretty significant.
The Sony’s launch bundles
There are 5 bundles available on launch. We will be retailing the plain vanilla option at $365. Add Uncharted and 4gb memory for $90 or Uncharted, 4gb memory, case and screen protector for $110 more. The Ninja Gaiden option is $10 cheaper than Uncharted.
Personally though I’ll strike out bundles with Ninja Gaiden as that game is more than $10 cheaper then Uncharted.
Prices above are estimates. Check our PS Vita Bundles on launch day 22/2/12 and decide for yourself
Buying from Sony partners vs Qisahn.com
For a list of Sony partners, refer to their press release one more time. We are not a Sony partner, so we have more freedom when pricing our bundles. Expect to save at least $30 by shopping with us, or $50 if you get memory card, games and accessories. Additionally, online customer support at Qisahn.com runs from 10am to 1am daily, no other game retailer / distributor / agent comes close to our dedication. We can also deliver to your doorstep for $10, though payment via bank transfer is required before delivery.
The downside though is we only accept cash, no cards. Neither do we offer any form of one to one exchange warranty for the Vita console. All hardware warranty is covered by Sony Singapore and none will be offered by us. We do however encourage thorough testing and will do exchanges before customer confirms the purchase.

Interesting write up! I like how you are upfront on the downsides if we purchase from you.
1 qn, i am curious about stuck pixels and sony’s warranty policy on this. Do you have any idea, say for eg 4 stuck pixels to qualify for exchange with sony?
Hi Qisahn, can you confirm whether escape plan is included if getting a bundle?
i have no idea on their dead pixel policy but i haven’t really seen dead pixels on the ps vita.
based on the singapore’s press release, which is very accurate for singapore’s launch.. no
edit
