When Asiasoft announced on May 10 that the suggested retail price for Diablo III Collector Edition is S$158 / RM388, it demoralized me. We had hundreds of preorders but we couldn’t match their suggested retail price. We had to sell at higher than suggested or at a loss. I don’t like either.

However, rogue reports quickly surfaced. Right on Asiasoft’s Facebook page, a customer reported that retail price is at S$299. Another customer from Malaysia reported RM899 as the official price. On further investigation, the prevailing retail prices are now S$350 to S$450 and RM800 to RM1000, nothing remotely close to their suggested price. continue reading »

The plastic wrapping around a video game box is more than just a protection against scratches. It is often used as the litmus test for the virginity of a video game. Sealed games are accepted to be new, while unsealed games are dubious.

We thank our customers for believing us when we told them two of our recent releases though unsealed, are brand new. We sell new games, we sell used games, but we never pass off used as new.

We previously explained the lack of seal to be “act of supplier”. We apologize, but this is just half the truth.

We did not think you wanted a refund only to pay $34-$40 more for a local warrantied set. Update 21/3/12: It has been 21 days since we last made a major change to our shipping policy. Alas, DHL Globalmail did not go as well as we hoped it would be. We will be restoring Pos Laju services.

This has been a confusing 2 week for our Malaysian customers. We used to offer delivery via Pos Laju every Monday and Thursday. However, we had to abruptly discontinue to the service this week as our old service provider has raised their prices.. significantly.

Theoretical question (Because this will never happen in real life):
What will you do if a girl thrusts her boobs at you and asks you to touch. Would you do that?

One of the most common question we face as a video game store associate is: “Is this game fun?”

As individuals with integrity, we try our best to provide some honest answers. However, when it comes to Christmas, upholding our standards gets extremely difficult. Christmas is the peak of retail and Christmas is when clueless parents come out to buy video games for their kids by the busload. An educational tour into the world of gaming at this point is really out of the question.

Sales associates, if you forget, are paid by the company to sell. I thank everyone for their trust in our little store, indeed, our recommendations are as honest you can get from a video game store. This is why we are also the most recommended store online. However, you will still be doing yourself a great favour by reading reviews online and watching trailers on youtube. Saving a few dollars but spending $50 on a crappy game is really just being penny wise, pound foolish.

Now, back to the topic..
Q: What will you do if a girl thrusts her boobs at you and asks you to touch. Would you do that?
