Buying Xbox 360

1.   Which console for me?

Xbox 360 Slim Arcade – The most affordable solution. Good with gamers who want a no frills experience.

Xbox 360 Slim 250GB Elite – If you plan to install games and download content, a larger HDD turns your gaming console into a home entertainment system.

The Slim is running on newer and better hardware that reduces the motherboard failure rate, which affected the earlier generation of 360 consoles.

2.    Kinect

The latest motion control offering from Microsoft is slated for release in November. The unique aspect of the Kinect would be its controller free gaming experience.

The Kinect is backward compatible with the older generation of Xbox 360s

3.   Games

The Xbox 360 is home to console exclusives such as the highly rated Gears of Wars series and Halo.

Many popular 3rd party titles appear on the Xbox 360 as well, such as the Call of Duty Series.

Playable games on local consoles are NTSC/J or region free games.

Games are typically in the range between $50 to $70 for new releases. Lower than the PS3 for cross platform titles.

4.   Warranty

The Xbox 360 would be covered under 1 year by Microsoft Singapore.

We would not accept exchanges once the purchase is final. All warranty claims will be directed to Microsoft.

5.   What else to purchase?

Extra controllers – Wired or wireless, a controller is good so more can join in the fun.

HDMI Cable - You will want to get this if you have a HDTV with HDMI input so that you can get resolution of up to 1080p. We have compatible HDMI cable @ $10, but it's not guaranteed to output to FULL HD, and MediaBridge Ultra Series High-Speed HDMI from $15 onwards. We highly recommend the MediaBridge Ultra Series High-Speed HDMI as they produce better quality images than compatible ones.

6.   Online Play

Xbox Silver – You are able to access most of the free content online. Communication via chat and voice are available.

Xbox Gold – In addition to Silver features, you will be able to play online with a Gold Subscription. Microsoft’s online features are vastly superior in terms of regular content updates and community features such as competitions.

This mode is subscription based and generally is cheaper for extended subscriptions (up to a year).
